The entrepreneurs come from a variety of industries such as accommodation, security, manufacturing and online retail. The workshop covered a range of business development matters including supply chain management, financial strategies and organisational design.

The participants noted that the programme gave them a valuable blueprint for their businesses and got them to rethink the way they strategised and ran their enterprises.

'We aim to support SMMEs with initiatives that create meaningful impact and I think it's clear that the City's programmes have started to cause a shift in Cape Town's business environment. For example, our Productivity Efficiency Programme assisted 18 businesses in 2022, resulting in the retention of 588 jobs.

'Our mission to make Cape Town the easiest place in Africa to do business has caused a ripple effect across the metro as shown by the 279 000 new jobs created in the last year in the Mother City. We will continue pushing ahead with projects and programmes that help to grow businesses, jobs and our economy,' said Alderman Vos.
